Toyoda Automatic Loom Works has teamed up with Fujitsu Ltd to form a new company for the development and sale of factory automation software: to be called Toyoda High System, and based in Kariya near its parent company, the new company hopes with Fujitsu’s help, to refine software developed by Toyoda Loom, particularly in the field of production control; it will be owned 90% by Toyoda Automatic Loom and 10% by Fujitsu; despite its name, Toyoda Loom has a diversified range of businesses, including forklift trucks, automobile assembly – it assembles Corolla cars for Toyota Motor Co, engine assembly and compressors for air conditioners for use in cars.
