Phonelink Plc has teamed with mutual insurer Scottish Widows to create an equally-owned joint venture company to develop and market the Tel-Me electronic trading system. The new The Electronic Market Ltd is capitalized at 4m British pounds, half from each party, enabling Scottish Widows to deliver a packaged electronic information and transaction service to its main markets. Separately, Phonelink said Graham Ramsey had been appointed chief executive and group managing director, coming across from United News & Media Plc. It said that founder Trevor Burke will concentrate his vision and innovative skills in creating the products of the future and developing strategic partnerships.
