Apple Computer Inc, Cupertino, California, began selling its PlainTalk text-to-speech and speech recognition software through retail channels, in response to customer demand. Previously, Plaintalk was available only as part of some Power Macintosh systems and Mac OS upgrades. The new software is to be distributed by its Claris Corp.
