STEC, the SSD Company, a provider of solid-state drive (SSD) technologies and products, has announced the inauguration of its new Storage Technology Innovation Center located in Pune, India.
The India design centre provides STEC with additional storage software development resources for EnhanceIO SSD Cache Software, and for other offerings incubated from early proof of concept through product development and productisation.
The new facility will be utilised by STEC to create software products which are complementary to its already extensive enterprise-class solid-state portfolio.
The centre will create software that is expected to enable customers to take full advantage of SSD performance, endurance and reliability, which may further drive widespread adoption of SSDs in the enterprise.
STEC president, COO & CTO Mark Moshayedi said the opening of the Pune Innovation Center will enable them to efficiently leverage local software development expertise and facilitate innovation in entirely new ways to better service our customers’ evolving needs.
Anurag Agarwal, who is leading STEC’s efforts to recruit and hire software developers, will serve as General Manager of the Innovation Center in Pune.
Aurag Agarwal said the establishment of the Storage Technology Innovation Center in Pune is important because it brings new solid-state technologies to India and will allow their local software team to make vital contributions towards the development of advanced technologies.
