CSC has acquired Maricom Systems, a provider of business intelligence and data management offerings that support mission-critical health information technology (IT) systems within the US Department of Health and Human Services (HHS).
Terms of the acquisition were not disclosed.
Maricom is expected to enable CSC expand its support of HHS efforts to implement IT improvements in the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act, and it enhances CSC capabilities in the areas of healthcare informatics and data management.
CSC North American Public Sector line of business president James Sheaffer said the addition of Maricom Systems supports CSC’s strategic focus on selected high growth areas of the US federal government.
CSC will be joined by approximately 200 employees of Maricom. They will a part CSC’s Health Services business area, which provides IT services and offerings to HHS’ centres for Medicaid and Medicare Systems.
Maricom Systems had appointed investment bank KippsDeSanto as the sole financial advisor for this acquisition.
