Reports from the SCO Forum last week tell of a Santa Cruz Operation Inc Unix release that will combine some of the features the Californian firm has been previewing over the last weeks and months. Santa Cruz Operation senior vice-president and chief technology officer Doug Michels indicated that the release, already more than a year in the making and code-named Everest, will appear by next summer. It is claimed Everest will offer unprecedented reliability, better administration and management properties than any other Unix product, better standards compliance and will be more interoperable than other server products available. Portions of Everest technology, including the easy to use administration system were on show at the Forum.
