Diffusion Inc has been formed in Mountain View, California with a mission to solve a major problem of the current business environment: information chaos – and it has attracted guru Esther Dyson to its share register – she says she knows all about information chaos. Diffusion plans to create intranet-based information delivery systems that eliminate the chaos of current delivery systems for both the information distributor and the recipient. As the proliferation of intranets continues, the company says, the amount of information being made available to millions of end users becomes unmanageable and often hidden in a company’s myriad servers, making it increasingly difficult for internal corporate users, customers, partners and others to filter and find the information they need to get their jobs done. Diffusion plans to introduce the market’s first system to ensure that time-sensitive, business-critical information reaches its targeted audience and destinations, to enable the information distributor and recipient to work together. Diffusion has raised an undisclosed sum in venture capital from Institutional Venture Partners, Matrix Partners and Stanford University – plus Esther Dyson, president of EDventure Holdings Inc and other individuals.
