NEC Corp, as reported briefly (CI No 2,909) has announced an extended relationship with Oracle Corp, particularly in the systems integration business in Japan, the US and South East Asia. NEC and Oracle first formed an alliance in 1987, and NEC established its own 30-person development team within Oracle in the US in 1995. This team assists with localization and training. The new relationship encompasses co-operation in the data warehouse area, sales of Oracle Applications and joint work on the Oracle on-line analytical processing server. NEC looks for sales of $50m in Oracle-related business over the next three years.
