Kalamazoo Computer Group Plc, the Birmingham-based computer services and printed systems group, has reported interim pre-tax profits up 18.5%, on turnover that fell 4.4% to UKP28.3m. By division, profits at Computer Services fell 4.5% to UKP2.1m on turnover down 1.4% at UKP20.5m; Printed systems saw profit up 33.3% at UKP1.2m on turnover down 10.3% at UKP7.8m. In particular, Kalamazoo highlighted the success of Kalamazoo Motor Trade Plc and Elite, its Oracle-based dealer system, which has won orders worth UKP3m since its lauch in January. The figures included an initial contribution of UKP13,000 on turnover of UKP104,000 from ET Hi-Tec, acquired in July for UKP243,000. The legal proceedings to recover management fees and rent from eight Kalamazoo Franchising Ltd printing franchisees, dating back to 1992, still rumbles on. All the money has been written off and Kalamazoo believes it could take another year to get any back. Kalamazoo will pay an interim dividend of a penny, up 17.6% on 1993.
