A new clue may have emerged in the continuing mystery of if, when and in what form a new partnership agreement will emerge between NEC Corp and Compagnie des Machines Bull SA – the two companies’ reinforced co-operation may be outside computers altogether: in La Tribune-Defosses, Hirofumi Okuyama, NEC managing director, is quoted saying We are looking for opportunities for expansion in common in all domains, even outside that of computers; for example, in telecommunications, satellite particularly; we hope to get to an agreement as soon as possible and have regular exchanges of engineers to this end.
