Advanced Telecommunications Modules Ltd, the Cambridge-based company pioneering low-cost desktop Asynchronous Transfer Mode communications, has now raised a total of $11.25m in venture funding following closing of its second round, which was put up by a syndicate of investors led by Oak Investment Partners. There is a promise of more cash from the present investors within the next 12 months. Others in the investor syndicate include New Enterprise Associates, 3i Group Plc, Sequoia Capital and Advent International. 3i led a group of private investors in the seed round in September 1994. The investment will enable the company to bring the Virata family to a much larger audience in the US.
