Cable & Wireless Plc announced that it is in one of 12 consortia shortlisted to participate in a proposed regional telecommunications scheme in Indonesia: it is the main foreign partner in the consortium of 10 members led by Indonesia’s PT Elektrindo Nusantara; the state plans to award licences to four or five joint ventures that will take over the operation of the existing domestic phone system and expand the network in a specific region.
