OnApp has said that it has provided Web hosting company Host1Plus with cloud management software.

OnApp is a cloud management software provider for the hosting industry.

The cloud management software is expected to enable Host1Plus to launch its beta Cloud VPS, which will see beta testers trial a new cloud environment from July, said the company.

It added that OnApp software has enabled Host1Plus to create and launch its beta Cloud VPS for free.

Host1Plus is giving away $1.5m worth of cloud services to beta testers, who will trial the new cloud environment over the next three months and give the Web hosting company feedback, said the company.

One has to register at Host1Plus’ community forum to become a beta tester.

The company is inviting testers to stress the system on a virtual machine, which is 100% elastic, and provide feedback on their experiences over the next three months.

Testers can add any resource without the need to set limits and will receive 24/7 support from Host1Plus, said the company.

OnApp CEO Ditlev Bredahl said this is an example of collaborative work at its best.

Bredahl said, "Host1Plus has taken the initiative to provide free cloud software, enabling testers to effectively test and utilise the cloud solution. OnApp supports innovative organisations leading the charge to improve its cloud offering."

Bredahl continued, "At a time when cloud is really taking off, Host1Plus has stepped up and enabled a free platform for testers to provide valuable feedback on the software and their experiences. This approach will help Host1Plus source new ways to streamline their cloud offering, and OnApp is here to make this happen. The free beta test will not only instill confidence in Host1Plus’ cloud service, but will also allow testers to feedback their experiences and suggestions, which is important for cloud companies."

Host1Plus co-founder Vincentas Grinius said, "We set up the beta cloud VPS to ultimately create a stable, reliable and super-fast cloud environment where any application can run without issues."

"Working with OnApp has enabled us to put this campaign in place and we believe that feedback from the testers will help us adjust our offering to provide an optimal solution," Grinius added.
