Apple Computer Inc has unveiled Macintosh System 7.5 Update 1.0 and QuickDraw GX 1.1. The update includes Apple Guide 1.2.5, an improved version of the interactive on-line help system; and PowerTalk Version 1.1.1, a new release of the collaboration technology. Other enhancements to the operating system include improved handling of low-memory situations; faster file sharing; and the addition of Macintosh Drag and Drop support to the Launcher so that it will be easier to add or remove items, the company said. The update is being made available free on most major on-line services and on the Internet, and in the US, System 7.5 users that are not able to download the updates from an on-line service or the Internet can order the new release and QuickDraw GX 1.1 after April 3 on the phone, when the update kits will be made available on a CD-ROM or on floppy disk for a shipping and handling fee.
