Microsoft Corp executive vice-president Steve Ballmer says revenue from Windows NT and SQL Server should grow by at least 70% in the current fiscal year but declined to say how many copies of NT had been sold: he did say that the company is looking at changing the pricing on the product to increase revenue from use of NT in servers; Windows NT has a street price of about $1,100 for servers and about $300 for workstations and he told Dow Jones the company thinks the server pricing scheme might need to be increased, because it presently gives one flat fee for connecting many systems to the server – For very large networks, I want to be the cheapest guy on the block, but we are probably even more cheap than we need to be, he concluded.
