BT has further expanded its BT Etherflow broadband networking service in Germany, which the company says enables corporate customers to use BT’s Ethernet-based WAN service in the country’s main business centres.

The new broadband networking service leverages high bandwidth to connect data centres and backup facilities, link geographically dispersed sites and build high performance Virtual Private Networks (VPN).

BT said its customers can now use 11 access nodes (Points of Presence, or PoPs) in Germany.

The company further said that customers can now book dedicated bandwidths between 2Mbps and 1Gbps for business-critical applications, and they are completely free in the design of their network architecture.

Users retain full control of their IP architecture, IP version, addressing scheme, and routing tables using BT Etherflow, which supports non-IP protocols such as AppleTalk, DECNet or SNA.

BT Etherflow, which is currently available in the US, Germany and other European countries, will be rolled out in a number of additional countries by the end of this year.
