Technology licensing company Rambus has signed a five-year patent license agreement with Freescale Semiconductor for technology in memory controllers and serial links on logic integrated circuit (IC).
The terms of the agreement are not revealed by Rambus, which licenses patented technology that is used to accelerate the performance of memory chips.
Rambus senior vice president and general manager of the Semiconductor Business Group Sharon Holt said this agreement demonstrates the strength of their patented technology for both memory controllers as well as serial links.
In a further development, all claims between the two companies including resolution of past use of Rambus’ patented innovations have been settled.
