Information Builders Inc has announced an extension of its relationship with Microsoft Corp, with an agreement to integrate the New York City-based company’s EDA/SQL product into Microsoft’s BackOffice integrated information system. Information Builders has experienced a dramatic growth in its EDA/SQL business over the past year, as potential customers become more familiar with middleware and initial industry scepticism over its cost is overcome. For Microsoft this agreement represents an opportunity for it to enhance its standing in the large corporate market by being able to offer full transparent database access for any SQL Server application. The product is expected to be ready in mid-1995. In a separate agreement, Information Builders also announced the joint development of the SQL Server95 Enterprise Gateway with Microsoft.
