The NTT Data subsidiary of Nippon Telegraph & Telephone Corp bought a 35% stake in Shanghai Venus Software Co, the Wen Hui Bao newspaper said. The Japanese firm has become the second biggest shareholder of Shanghai Venus, which had revenue of $3.3m in 1995, a figure that is expected to rise to $4.8m this yearVenus said. Separately, Nippon said the parent company had won a contract to build an accounting clearing system for the People’s Bank of China. It has also won a contract to build a computer deposit network for the Chinese Ministry of Posts & Telecommunications. No details were given.
