Comac Group Plc, the UK supplier of contract computer consultants, is acquiring the UK information technology consulting division of Learmonth & Burchett Management Systems Plc and changing its name to Parity Plc. The acquisition, made out of existing group resources involves a cash payment of ?1.35m for the business and ?400,000 for product licences. The acquired company, which no longer fits into Learmonth’s software focussed strategy, provides information technology consultancy services such as strategic studies and business process re-engineering and had turnover of ?3.8m in the year to April 30 with trading profits of ?0.4m. Parity will employ a relatively small number of highly experienced managers and consultants, pulling in independent contractors where necessary for individual projects from its database of 65,000.
