Former Apple Computer Inc senior VP David Nagel has reminded us of the details of that firm’s recently mentioned Powerbook woes (CI No 3,001). Computergram subscriber Nagel, now president at AT&T Labs, explained that during the Powerbooks’ testing phase two of the batteries failed after high temperature testing and released some gases from the battery packs. While not exactly what one would like to happen, it’s far from catching fire.
