X Window System terminal manufacturer company HDS Network Systems, the former Human Designed Systems Inc, but still in the delightfully-named King of Prussia, Pennsylvania, is preparing a desktop network computer which it claims will provide access to applications and data – including video, graphics and text – running on multiple systems, including mainframes, VAX/VMS minis, Windows and Mac personal computers and Unix servers, plus all varieties of networks – internal, public and the Internet. It will offer support for Java and will bundle Spyglass Inc’s Mosaic World Wide Web browser. Based on the Intel Corp 80960 processor, it’s due in April and prices start at $750.
