E+, the third German mobile telephone network operator, has seen approximately 2,000 subscribers sign up in Berlin, Leipzig, Halle and Dessau since it began operation on May 27, says a spokesman for the company: he added that the number is changing every day and that we are very satisfied; beginning in September, the company will launch its DCS1800 Groupe Speciale Mobile network service every couple of weeks in all major German cities, and by the end of the year expects to have 30% of the territory covered, with 95% covered in 1997; E+, owned by Veba AG, 28%, Thyssen AG, 28%, BellSouth Corp, 21%, Vodafone Group Plc, 16% and the French groupe Caisse des Depots SA, 2%, has so far spent $2,500m on its network.
