Cambridge, Massachusetts-based Bolt Beranek & Newman Inc reported a loss of $7.8m for the fiscal year to June 30 – full figures not yet in – but says it expects to return to profitability during the second half of the fiscal year and to break even for the year: George Conrades, president and chief executive added that this outlook could be affected by further expenditures on commercial business development which may be warranted by the opportunities available to us; it sees increased sales to commercial customers, particularly by its LightStream Corp venture – losses continue to reflect expenditures on its LightStream 2010 Asynchronous Transfer Mode switch and other new product activities, the firm said.
