24MAS, a mobile advertising and applications provider, has acquired Irish mobile service provider Selatra.

Selatra operates in 55 countries and has over nine years of experience in delivering mobile content and fully managed operator services.

Through this acquisition, 24MAS will roll out new services from Selatra globally, including on-device portals for smartphones and feature phones, managed carrier offerings, and further powering publishers and content providers across smartphones and feature phones.

In addition, 24MAS will gain a purpose built suite of technologies and an experienced management team, accelerating both companies plans to grow their offering to carriers and media partners, said the company.

The move complements 24MAS’s existing product and technology services and further strengthens its global footprint as a total mobile offerings provider in Asia, South America, North America, Australia and Europe.

24MAS CEO Tero Turunen said they are thrilled by the new partnership between the Selatra team and the 24MAS group.

"We are now able to offer our partners the full offering of advertising and premium content offerings, whilst allowing app developers to deal simply with one company and earn additional revenues through our networks – submit once and deliver to all, ads or apps," Turunen said.

"We feel that we are in a unique position to exploit the booming mobile markets in the coming years with distributions rights, unmatched global reach, application hosting and managed service offerings covering everything from monitoring, reporting and billing. By adding on great titles to our app portfolio we will soon also have a collection of some of the best mobile apps on the market."
