Information infrastructure technology company EMC has entered into technology collaboration with Box, a content management services provider, to develop integrated content management offerings.
EMC hopes to bring the benefits of cloud-enabled sharing to global enterprises through the joint effort.
The collaboration is expected to benefit customers who will gain access to Box’s intuitive user interface, external collaboration, and content access from any mobile device. They can also avail enterprise-class security, compliance and process management with EMC Documentum, said the company.
It added that integrating Box’s cloud layer and interface with EMC Documentum provides new mobile and external collaboration capabilities required for businesses to make better, faster decisions.
The cloud-enabled joint offerings gives users tools for accessing information regardless of device. Further, both the companies are working to build integrations to offer customers a seamless content management and collaboration experience, said EMC.
EMC information intelligence group division president Rick Devenuti said EMC and Box are taking the user experience for accessing, sharing and collaborating on enterprise content to a new level.
"We’re pleased to launch this next phase of Enterprise Content Management, which squarely meets the demands of the new user in this Post PC era," Devenuti said.
