Enterprise Data Fusion, a content integration software provider in the enterprise search industry, has unveiled eFusion 1.0, which the company says easily and efficiently connects diverse content sources to multiple search appliances, empowering users to search their entire enterprise.

eFusion enables clients to connect diverse content sources to various search appliances, and provides a user interface and connector wizard to quickly and consistently connect content sources to appliances, mitigating the need to spend weeks writing custom code, said the company.

The new middleware application features security enforcement, search appliance configuration, crawl scheduling and criteria, content filtering, GUI administration, early and late binding, smart downtime recovery, performance metrics, and online help documentation.

It expands the reach of the major search engine vendors such as Google (Google Search Appliance), Microsoft (FAST), MaxxCAT (MaxxCAT Search Appliance) and Thunderstone (Thunderstone Search Appliance).

Enterprise Data Fusion CEO Mike Kolnberger said the explosive growth of the creation of data coupled with the lack of industry standards for information storage, access and retrieval presents an increasingly difficult challenge for organizations.

"The eFusion product was conceived to ensure that our clients can harness the power of their data, even as their enterprise continues to grow and evolve," Kolnberger said.

eFusion fills the up-front need of the client for easy and fast configurability, and also fills the ongoing need for supported, tested and continually updated enterprise-grade connectors.
