Carlton Communications Plc insists that the sale of its ImMIX business in Grass Valley, California to Scitex Corp Ltd, Herzlia, Israel for $21m does not signal any intention to sell its other technology businesses, which include Quantel and Miles 33. ImMIX, created by Carlton in 1990, did about $19m in the year to this month with its Macintosh-based VideoCube digital video post-production workstation. Carlton said it sold after getting an offer too good to refuse.
