Pipex Ltd, subsidiary of Cambridge-based Unipalm Plc, has launched two Internet services, Pipex Worldstore and Pipex Worldweb, and installed a public file server, Pipex Worldserver – a dual processor Sparcserver 20 with 45Gb of usable disk space – for the task. The services are said to enable the set-up of World Wide Web pages or File Transfer Protocol server facilities. Pipex Worldstore enables customers access to their own File Transfer Protocol area on the server, with options for both publicly-accessible and password-protected areas. Pipex Worldweb provides the same service, but with World Wide Web access. Worldstore will cost UKP400 for set-up and the first 5Mb, with charges of UKP6 per additional Megabyte up to 100Mb, and UKP3 thereafter. Worldweb will cost UKP800, UKP10 and UKP4 respectively for the same.
