Oracle Corp has invested over UKP50m in the Thames Valley Park, a 140-acre site to the east of Reading, England. The firm spent UKP20m on the land, which totals 1m square feet, and is spending UKP30m on the building itself. The company is also developing a leisure centre, and a bus service – which it will own itself for workers from nearby Reading into the business park. Oracle will be consolidating its seven southeastern sites into the offices, which will hold 2,000 staff. The firm will begin construction within the next four weeks after it has signed up developers, and phase one completion planned for next year. Digital Equipment Corp has already committed to space in the Park, though construction of its offices has not begun yet.
