Acer has said that it will launch two new Android based and one Windows 7 based tablet computers in the UK.
The Iconia Tab A500 is slated for an April release, followed by the Iconia Tab A100 in May. A 10-inch Windows 7 tablet, the model W500 will also be released.
The company said that retailers such as Amazon, Comet, John Lewis, HMV and Harrods will sell the 10-inch A500 Android tablet.
The A500 device was first seen at Mobile World Congress in February this year. It is a 10.1-inch tablet based on Android 3.0 Honeycomb and Nvidia’s dual-core Tegra 2 chipset. It has a 1GHz processor and features 1GB of RAM with either 16GB or 32GB of storage.
The Wi-Fi only A500 will cost around £449, while the 3G-equipped Iconia Tab A501 will be priced at £549.
The 7-inch A100 also has similar features and is priced around £329.
The Iconia Tab W500 has a 10-inch display, a 1GHz dual-core processor, 2GB of RAM and a 32GB SSD.
All the three tablets will initially be available as WiFi only models. The company said 3G enabled devices will be introduced around a month later.
