Cray Communications, the networking arm of Frimley, UK-based Cray Electronics Plc has announced what it claims is the world’s first switch offering RMON remote monitoring management on all ports. The ES-2820 28-port Enterprise Ethernet switch is based on Cray’s ASIC chip set, and also supports interactive multimedia by offering users the performance of full wire speed operation on all ports, and per-port selectable fowarding techniques. Available now, it costs under $1,400.
