Candidly speaking, Cambridge, UK company IXI Ltd likes some of the things that Interleaf Inc has done in its Windows-style widgets for Motif: if it is good enough, IXI says it might use some of the Interleaf technology for Motif and Windows mapping in its Win-tif system. Indeed this month, alongside an independent software vendor programme, IXI promises a Win-tif Software Development Kit including linking features enabling applications to take advantage of shared library system, support for which is crucial in being able to offer different interface styles. Sun Microsystems Inc and IBM Corp support shared libraries. Ironically, IXI parent Santa Cruz Operation Inc does not.
