Aviat Networks has reported total revenue of $124.2m for the second quarter of 2011, a marginal increase of 1.3% compared to $122.6m of the same quarter prior year.
Revenue from North America was $40.4m in the second quarter of fiscal 2011, compared with $49.4m in the year ago period; International revenue was $83.8m, compared with $73.2m in the year ago period.
The company posted a gross margin of $36.7m for Q2 FY11, a decrease of 13.2% as compared to $42.3m of the same period last year.
Operating loss for the quarter decreased to $6m from $6.2m of the second quarter of 2010.
For the quarter ended December 31 2010, Aviat Networks reported a net loss of $12.5m, or net loss per share of $0.21, as compared to net loss of $7.9m, or $0.13 loss per share in Q2 fiscal 2010.
Aviat Networks chairman and CEO Chuck Kissner said the company made significant progress in their restructuring efforts during the second quarter FY11.
"Shipments increased substantially, resulting in revenue growth for the first time in several quarters and as the transition of our internal operations accelerated, cash usage was less than projected," Kissner said.
The company expects revenue to range between $115m and $125m in the third quarter of fiscal 2011.
