Mexican telecommunications service provider Telmex has entered into a telepresence agreement with AT&T.

Under the agreement, Telmex will use AT&T Business Exchange, a feature of AT&T Telepresence offering, to provide its customers with an improved, seamless telepresence services in Mexico.

The AT&T Business Exchange enables telepresence users to connect to telepresence sites either within or outside their own enterprises allowing ‘face to face’ collaboration during telepresence sessions.

The global access to telepresence services will allow Telmex customers to have ‘in-person’ experiences of interaction and collaboration with other companies across multiple locations worldwide.

Telmex said that combining the capabilities AT&T Business Exchange with Cisco TelePresence technology will enable it to deliver a fully-managed, scalable, secure and reliable environment for users who want a face-to-face experience without the time and expense of business travel.

AT&T wholesale and GEM (Government, Education and Medical) solutions executive vice president Kathryn Morrissey said the company was pleased to support Telmex in helping their customers to be better connected through the rapidly growing and increasingly popular global telepresence ecosystem available through the AT&T Business Exchange.
