Half of Black Friday shoppers are expected to buy goods using their smartphone, according to a survey from Asurion.
The survey of 1,000 respondents found that 58% described their device as ‘very important’ for Black Friday shopping.
Another 46% said their smartphone was a useful shopping assistant, which offers product information, while 35% said their device would help them save money by finding discount codes and coupons.
Asurion spokesperson Bettie Colombo said technology should make lives easier and it looks like smartphones will do that this holiday season.
"With our smartphones and tablets we can be connected from almost anywhere," Colombo said.
"On Black Friday, shoppers and retailers alike will take advantage of that connectedness.
Most of the smartphone users surveyed were found to have three or four shopping applications from popular retailers on their device.
