Mobile interaction services provider tyntec has joined with Italian Mobile Virtual Network Operator (MVNO) Nòverca to offer two-way cloud telephony and SMS coverage in Italy via its tt.One technology.
As part of the deal, Nòverca would deliver local virtual mobile numbers and enable tyntec to offer SMS and mobile voice for VoIP providers, OTT firms, social networks, dating sites, enterprises as well as app developers.
The joint venture would provide Noverca with extra voice and SMS revenue from OTT traffic, which is anticipated to be worth $8.4bn globally by 2016.
Noverca subsidiary Acotel Group CEO Claudio Carnevale said that the deal allows offering OTT services through tt.One and allows capitalising on the growing market.
"The financial rewards of such services are sometimes unclear, so working with tyntec on a tangible revenue share model seems like a natural step and an easy way to tackle OTT services for MVNOs like Nòverca," Carnevale said.
tyntec’s tt.One offering adds voice, SMS and mobile numbers to the cloud, and establishes a link between web/OTT and telecoms that allows Italian and international firms to offer free/low cost OTT voice and text apps, extensive VoIP with SMS and phone numbers.
tyntec sales and carrier relations vice president José Garcia said MVNOs with core network access can use tt.One to take advantage of the growing end-user demand for OTT services such as mobile VoIP and other Internet-based mobile communications.
"By partnering with tyntec, Nòverca now has the opportunity to receive revenues from ever increasing OTT services," Garcia said.
