An organisation which approves adverts on behalf of British broadcasters has extended a contract with a company which provides the system on which it checks ad scripts and filmed ads.
Clearcast, founded by Britain’s eight largest commercial broadcasters including ITV, Channel 4, Channel 5 and Sky, has extended its contract with Adstream by 12 months for use of its Adway copy clearance system.
Clearcast, set up to simplify the process of getting adverts on air, has used the system since 2003 to handle more than 33,000 scripts and 61,000 TV commercials a year.
It works with advertisers and agencies on behalf of the commercial broadcasters to get advertising to air as smoothly as possible and to ensure the adverts avoid falling foul of the BCAP code, which could result in a ban from the Advertising Standards Authority
MD Chris Mundy said: "Clearcast are pleased to be able to announce this extension. We have enjoyed a productive working relationship with Adstream over the last 10 years and value their continued partnership and professionalism in the delivery of the Adway system."
Adstream CEO Gerard Barron added: "We’re thrilled to be extending our arrangement and helping ensure the efficient operation of copy clearance in the UK broadcast industry."
Clearcast has retained an option to extend the contract again.
