HTC expects 63.6% rise in revenue during the second quarter of 2013 compared to the last quarter.

HTC reported a decline in its revenues during April 2013 to NT$19.6bn ($663m), representing the company’s continued downward trend as it struggles to take on rivals Samsung and Apple.

Despite 23.4% rise compared March 2013, the company’s revenues dropped by 36.87% on a year-on-year basis, which is just below the projected NT$20bn ($677m) mark.

HTC’s cumulative sales for the initial four months (January to April) of 2013 reached NT$62.4bn ($2.11bn).

HTC is anticipating a revenue target of NT$70bn ($2.37bn) for the second quarter of 2013, while its profitability margin is also projected to be between 22% to 24%, with its operating profit is expected to rise from 1% to 3%.

The company’s revenue during the first quarter of 2013 dropped by 36.9% to NT$42.8bn ($1.42bn) compared to NT$67.79bn ($2.25bn) reported during the corresponding quarter in 2012.

Recently, HTC introduced its android based smartphone HTC-ONE in the UK, which is powered by a 1.7GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 600 processor, runs on the Android 4.1 (Jelly Bean) with a new HTC Sense and features a 2GB of RAM.

Additionally, shipments for the company’s flagship handset is projected to exceed 4 million units, while from May 2013, the company is starting marketing efforts for its handset in China and other secondary Asian markets.
