Microsoft has claimed that its online file storage and sharing service SkyDrive has now 250 million users.

The company claims that the number of users of its cloud storage service has increased by 50 million since the launch of Windows 8 in October 2012.

According to the company, it has extended Validation Certificates integrated on SkyDrive.com.

Microsoft said in its blog that it had introduced the SkyDrive as the default save location for the new Office, updated the SkyDrive app for iOS, and enhanced the SkyDrive uploading performance.

The company has also announced that the Outlook.com is planning to launch a new feature that allows users to insert anything from SkyDrive directly into an email message.

Earlier, the company had revealed that the users of the Microsoft accounts have increased to 700 million, following the introduction of the two-step verification security feature.
