After launching budget phone Mi 4i for the Indian market, Chinese smartphone maker Xiaomi has announced a $200 smartphone, the Mi 4c, targeting Chinese customers.

It features a 6-core Snapdragon 808 processor, a 5-inch 1080p IPS display, USB Type-C and dual-SIM.

The entry level Mi 4c will feature 2GB of RAM and 16GB of storage, and the company will offer a 32GB model featuring 3GB RAM.

The phone also features a 13MP rear camera and a 5MP front camera and is powered by a 3080 mAh battery.

Mi 4c also features an IR blaster and accompanying software that turns the phone into a remote control, allowing users to control their smart appliances. It also features Edge Tap to help users take better selfies.

The phone will be available in white, black, blue, pink and yellow.

Apart from the Phone, the company has also introduced mobile plans under its own brand, after recently receiving MVNO (mobile virtual network) licenses in China.

It is offering ‘Mi Mobile’, a pay-as-you-go tariff costing $0.02 per voice call minute, SMS, or 1MB of data, and a separate $10 per monthly package that gives users 3GB of data.

The offers are only available to Chinese customers and it will become available from today. Xiaomi also introduced a wireless speaker that is smaller than an average pencil case yet provides 8 hour of music playback.
