Low market acceptance led Alibaba to sell off its US e-commerce site 11 Main.
The company said it sold the platform to OpenSky, a U.S.-based online retail company, with the deal set to be officially closed by the end of July.
Alibaba will also sell three other US companies that it had acquired in 2010 and 2011.
11 Main, Auctiva, Vendio, and SingleFeed, will all be merged into OpenSky’s portfolio, of which Alibaba will become a 37.6% owner following the transaction.
Alibaba said: "This joining of forces will help drive sales worldwide."
OpenSky will boost a portfolio of 50,000 brands and "millions" of shoppers, according to the Chinese company.
11 Main launched in 2014 and was Alibaba’s shop-window platform for small US merchants and brands.
