Apple is seeking ban on eight of Samsung’s phones in the US, following the US jury’s judgement that Samsung had imitated the iPhone and iPad in developing and marketing its products.

Apple has targeted eight Samsung phone models which include Galaxy S 4G, Galaxy S2 AT&T, Galaxy S2, Galaxy S2 T-Mobile, Galaxy S2 Epic 4G, Galaxy S Showcase, Droid Charge and Galaxy Prevail.

Apple’s seeking of ban on Samsung phones follows its winning of $1.05bn lawsuit against Samsung, which could lead to ban on sales of major Samsung products.

Although Apple’s lawsuit included 28 devices, many of those accused devices were currently not available widely in the US.

While Samsung’s Galaxy S III phone was not included in the assessment, the jury had confirmed Apple’s patents on features and design elements that it could then try to exercise against that device.

According to legal experts, Apple may not have to go for new trial over the S III, but can incorporate it in a ‘contempt proceeding’ which can be accessed much faster.

The South Korean electronics firm revealed that it will proceed with all the required measures to ensure sales of its products in the US market.

According to a source known with the situation, Samsung has already commenced working with US carriers regarding alteration of infringed features to save its products on the market.

Apple’s victory over Samsung is expected to have high impact on Google, as its Android software powers the Samsung products which were found to have infringed on Apple’s patents.

Google and its hardware partners, along with the firm’s own Motorola unit, are anticipated to experience legal hurdles in their effort to compete with the Apple.

The jury has scheduled a 20 September 2012 hearing to converse Apple’s demands for the sales bans of Samsung products in the US.
