Verizon Business has launched a new application management service, which it claims to offer enterprises management of SAP applications and delivery platforms.

The company said that the new service enables enterprises to deploy and manage SAP applications such as financial analysis and logistics management while reducing complexity and controlling costs.

Verizon said that it is able to provide businesses, which outsource their SAP offerings, with high-performance environments through its application-delivery system comprising integrated delivery centres and underpinned by the Verizon Business global IP network.

Through this model, the company said that it can offer custom service-level guarantees that extend beyond server and application availability to include transaction and business-process metrics.

The new service is supported by a help desk, providing customers with a single point of accountability. Customers also have visibility into their SAP environment through a web-based portal.

Joe Crawford, executive director of IT solutions at Verizon, said: “This new service is about one thing – easing our customers’ IT management load so they can get the best bang for their SAP application buck. Our decade-plus track record managing and hosting web-based applications and delivering IT and security consulting services to multinationals makes this a natural evolution for us.”
