Tech Mahindra is reportedly developing new technology development facilities in the US and is planning to hire more resources from the country, in an attempt to generate more business opportunity related to digital technologies.

Reuters cited Tech Mahindra CEO C.P. Gurnani as saying that the company is planning to construct more local delivery centers in the US and Canada.

Within the past six months the company has already opened two local delivery centres in Canada and six in the US.

Gurnani also highlighted that US is one of the largest markets for the company and with the new facilities it expects to provide faster delivery of services to clients and address their changing technological needs that are varying.

Reuters cited a source familiar with the matter as saying that the company is planning to appoint 100 resources in every quarter in the US.

Tech Mahindra has many facilities in India and it uses the low cost workforce to provide services to clients located in Europe and US.

Gurnani added: "We need to interact with clients at a much higher frequency and have more intense discussions between business, technology process and the market. That loop has to be faster and that’s why we need to be closer physically.

"This adds to our expenses, but I am hoping our clients understand the value that comes with it."
