Advertising revenues on the internet totaled $217.3m in the first half of this year, according to Cowles/Simba Information’s Electronic Advertising and Marketplace Report newsletter. Last month the organization predicted a total of $446.2m for this year, so it reckons the figure to June put the industry bang on target. There is a rival report from the Internet Advertising Bureau that comes out quarterly and is not from a newsletter that is trying to sell subscriptions, but from about 200 internet publishers. Its second quarter report should be out within a few weeks.
