Worldwide semiconductor sales rose 14.7% to $11.8bn in September, the highest total in 19 months, according to the Semiconductor Industry Association. September figures represent a 1.6% increase over August sales. Sales in the Americas region soared 20.1% year-over year, while Asia-Pacific and Europe grew 22.4% and 15.7%, respectively. In Japan, however, sales grew only 1.3% year-over-year and declined 2.9% from August.
