Capita Group Plc, the UK outsourcing company which specializes in providing Information Technology services to central government and large private companies, has put some weight behind its inflated share price with interim figures showing net profits for the six months to June 30 up 52.1% at 4.7m pounds on revenue that rose 39.2% to 69.7m pounds. In February, Capita purchased the remaining 50% of DriveSafe which administers the written section of the UK driving test, boosting profits by 12%. Chairman Rod Aldridge says the new Labour government hasn’t dented the market for outsourcing but further growth is likely to come from the private sector with increased interest from privatized utilities and financial services institutions.
